A Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is a measure which measures the speed at which a particular frequency releases power into human tissues. In generally, a SAR must not exceed 2 watts per kilogram body mass. The SAR value is calculated by the electrical field that exists in tissues as well as the mass density, which is measured as kilograms for each cubic millimeter. It was recently applied to the proposed antenna design.

The latest radio technology that make up 5G operate in frequencies lower than 6 GHz. These frequencies are also known in millimeter waves. However the FCC's SAR compliance program is only applicable to frequencies up six GHz. Furthermore to that, the SAR test demands that measurements be conducted with phantoms made of tissue simulating medium.
